September 18 is the South game we are technically away, however since it is at Park Hill we still have a home dinner. I don’t know if you have ideas for this game, however the last couple of years we had a tailgate in the parking lot on that side.  I have congress booked too, so which ever you prefer! J

For those of you attending the game we will be on the opposite side of the stadium.  Ladies park on the High school side and walk to congress for dinner.

First Full Week back

Participation Activity Fee:

Coach Sobbe and I were informed at the coaches meeting on Friday, the school increased this fee to $55.  For those of you who already paid please send an extra $10 in with your cheerleader, for those of you who did not, please send $55.  This will be taking out of our account within the next week.  Sorry for the confusion. Thank you.

Tumbling Classes:

Still open for 4 people on Monday to start a class and 6 people on Tuesday to start a class.

I spoke with a couple coaches at Edge in Riverside and if the girls are interested they would make a tumble class for them.  It's $40 per month per girl and times can be either Monday at 3pm or Tuesday at 3pm and last an hour.  They would need at least 12 girls to sign up for the class.  If you are interested please sign up on the google sheet.   Once I get 12 girls interested I will reach out to Edge and arrange this.  Thank you.

It is tradition the families provide dinner and drinks for the cheerleaders prior to each home game and during the game.  For away games parents send snack meal for halftime as well as drinks for the girls during the game.  Please sign up for a game you wish to volunteer for.  Usually we do 3-4 families for home games and 1-2 families for away.  Please sign up at the following link. 

Please sign up for the nights you are able to volunteer.  Usually, it helps it returner parents sign up with rookie parents to help them know how the dinner works.

Ford Drive For your School

·         Each year Ford sets up a date and time with the school for Dance Team and Cheer to raise money from people test driving Ford cars.  This will be the last fundraiser until our fall kiddie clinic.  We are asking each girl to try to bring at least  5 18 or older test drivers to raise money for our uniforms. 

·         Date: Saturday, 8/15 I know it’s the same day as our rivalry run, however we should be able to make it work. 

·         Time:9-5 test drivers can go all day and mention they are cheerleading and who they are representing, however, I am only asking the girls to volunteer between 1-5pm. Dance Team will cover 9-1pm  Please sign up for an hour shift! J First come First serve

Community Service

a.       Rivalry Run – August 15  ( This is mandatory please sign up to know you saw this) If you are unable to attend please contact Coach Baker ASAP

                                                               i.      We will meet at the KC Live living room stage at 7:10am.  

                                                             ii.       We'll begin the pep rally between 7:35-7:40

                                                            iii.      We will head to the street (Grand Blvd)at 7:50.  

                                                           iv.      National Anthem will take place around 7:55 and the race will begin at 8am

                                                             v.      Cheerleaders, you'll position yourselves along the race route (near the start/finish line) to cheer the runners on as they finish.

                                                           vi.       After the race is complete, you'll head back to the stage to cheer for winners during the awards ceremony.

JV Parents: we will have the JV girls attend dinner for Senior Night and Homecoming.  These games the girls will cheer all game.  If you are able to volunteer for any of these nights please sign up.

·       On August 11^th Reed Portraits will come take headshots and team pictures of the girls on both Varsity and JV.  This is for the sports programs.  We will have a date in October where Reed will come back out and take individual and group pictures of the girls.  These photos you will be able to purchase.

WOW Summer went fast! Update!!

Coaching Change:

On Thursday night at Family and Friends we welcome Morgan Sobbe who will be coaching our JV girls.  She will also help out with Varsity in Competition.  Coach Sobbe has been a cheer coach at Staley in her past and will be teaching 9^th grade math at Park Hill high school this year.  We are excited to have her as a part of the Park Hill Family.  With that being said Coach Simon is moving to Columbia a week from today to move closer to her family.  She will be teaching 7^th grade.  We wish her the best of luck and I know we will miss her.  Thank you for everything you have done for the girls. 

Regionals:

Thank you to everyone who came out to support the girls last night! They appreciate it! They did an amazing job.  I am so very proud of them! It was the best routine I had seen, which is saying a lot because they rocked family and friends.  The girls took 3^rd place behind St. Joe Central and Blue Springs South.  We are excited to start working our skills to defend our title at state in November.
