Dead Week

Cheer Parent Club:
We will have a cheer parent club with several committees.  These committees will help out throughout the year.  I need both Varsity and JV parents on each committee.  During the meetings you will meet as a committee and brainstorm ideas of what you want to accomplish.  The coaches must approve any ideas.  Our Next meeting will be Tuesday, July 7, 2015.  The committees will be as follows:


1.       Traditions Committee-  Tonya Slone (Head)
a.       Locker Decoration
b.      Back To School
c.       Homecoming
d.      Friday Night Dinners
e.      Other Traditions

2.       Fundraising- Coaches need any fundraising ideas planned a month ahead of time.  These ideas must be approved by the school before we begin.

2.       Winter
                                                             ii.      Chiefs Concerts/Games : Must be 16 or older to participate.
b.      Individual

Regionals:
Regionals are scheduled for Friday July 24, 2015.  Our session begins at 6pm doors open at 5pm.  Registration is at 5:15pm (for cheerleaders and alternates only.)  We will leave Park Hill High School at 4pm  on Friday. If you click the link it shows you the performance order. 
·         Fingernail lengths, body piercing, and braces will be checked in the holding area before each squad competes.  Should there be any violations, penalties will be accessed at that point.  Also, there will be a penalty accessed for glitter used on the body and a penalty for hair not pulled up away from the face and off the shoulders. ( We will go over this closer to competition time)

Payments:   The following should be paid in full:
1.       Varsity Clothing- Varies
2.       Backpack- $45
3.       Camp- $300
4.         Bows- $20
5.       Stunt Clinic - $25
Please send it in an envelope with your cheerleader’s name on it and what the payment is for.   If you have not made a payment please do so immediately. I have sent an email to everyone who is not up to date on payments.  If you feel you should have received an email please let me know. 
The next payments due are:
·         7/14 - Regional/State shirt - Varsity and Alternates (who choose to buy one) - $40
·         7/14- Mid-drift – JV - $40
·         7/28- Activity Fee – ALL - $45

Week after camp....

CAMP
The girls did amazing at camp! For those of you who came to support our teams, Thank you! For those who did not come I am sure you heard all about it!! JV took 3rd in Camp Champs out of 10 squads! Varsity took 4th out of 6 squads! We are very proud of them and can’t wait to see what else they accomplish this year! I will get the videos of both performances and share them with you.

Regionals are scheduled for Friday July 24 & Saturday July 25 at Lee Summit North High school.   Varsity, as well as alternates with have transportation to and from Lee Summit North.  If other JV girls would like to attend please let me know!

Parent Meeting

Parent Meeting – 6/16/15

CAMP
When: June 19-June 21
·         Friday 6/19- We will be leaving the high school at 8am PLEASE BE AT THE HIGH SCHOOL BY 7:30AM ON FRIDAY!! 
·         Sunday 6/20- The bus will be leaving from Northwest at 1pm.  Approx. Arrival at PHHS 3:30-4pm The girls will call you when we are about 15-20 minutes from arrival
   
What to pack: Each girl will bring their cheer backpack and 1 duffle bag only!!  Below, you will find a list of items each girls should bring with her to camp this weekend:
·         Sheets (Twin)
·         Blanket
·         Camp Clothes (everything we gave you beside the pants and long plain black leggings, Varsity will bring their black crop leggings)
·         Extra set of clothes and pajamas
·         Phone Charger
·         Alarm Clock if needed – sometimes phones don’t work
·         Cheer Shoes
·         Shower shoes
·         towel
·         Underwear and socks
·         Pillow
·         Toothbrush/toothpaste
·         Deodorant- Keep this in cheer bag you may need it during the day! J
·         Shampoo/conditioner
·         Body wash

·         We have named 6 JV members as Alternates for Competition.  We would like them to come to most practices for Comp and they must attend Regionals on July 24 or 25th .  WE informed these girls at practice 2 weeks ago.  If you have any further questions please contact Coach Baker.

Coach Simon
·        Coach Simon has accepted a position in Columbia to teach 7th grade math to be closer to her family.  She will miss Park Hill tremendously.  It was a very bitter sweet decision.  I will miss her also.  She will stay with us through Regionals.  If you have any questions please feel free to reach out.

        Thank you for the continual Support we appreciate all that you do for the Park Hill Cheer Program.
        Remember if you ever have an issue or are confused on something please do not hesitate to reach out to us. 
        Already have been working with Erneste to make the transition with Coach Simon as smooth as possible.

Girls requested a SPIRIT BUS FOR STATE- will talk to Mr. Erneste when we get closer to the time.

It's Camp Week

THIS EMAIL CONTAINS IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT CAMP, PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THROUGH IT!

Parent Meeting:  We will have a parent meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, June 16 at 6pm in the cafeteria.  Location may change. However please plan to attend.  This meeting we will go over some traditions we have for both Varsity and JV, including camp.  This will also be a great opportunity to introduce yourselves and who you belong to.

Thursday: We will be making posters for the doors on their rooms.  I will provide posters and markers, however feel free to bring pictures or any other art supplies to practice Thursday that you would like to decorate your poster with.  Also, please bring snacks to practice on Thursday to send to camp.  Varsity girls will need to bring 21 snacks, JV girls will need to bring 18 snacks (NO PEANUTS!).  The coaches will be filling bags at practice on Thursday with these snacks and they will be given to the girls on the bus ride to Maryville.

CAMP
When: June 19-June 21
We will be leaving the high school at 8am on Friday June 19 and return to the high school mid-afternoon on June 21. 
PLEASE BE AT THE HIGH SCHOOL BY 7:30AM ON FRIDAY!!  The bus will be leaving from Northwest at 1pm. 
On Sunday, there will be a performance for parents to attend if they would like (we will get times to you when we know of them!)
