The practice schedule for November and December is up to
date on the blog. We will try and
provide any changes to the schedule at least 2 weeks in advance so that you are
able to resolve any conflicts. We are
trying to schedule practices in the gym closer to the assembly, so watch out
for those additions to the calendar (may not be 2 weeks in advance due to
football schedule). We will be waiting
to see how the football team does to see what gym space basketball can give
us.
FOOTBALL DINNER!: Thanks
to Tonya, Dawn, and Jennifer for the potato/chili bar last Friday! We will need some volunteers to provide
dinner for this week’s game on Friday night.
If you are interested, please let me know ASAP and I will get a group
together to you are able to communicate with each other on what to bring. Some ideas that have not been used already:
taco bar, sub sandwiches, etc.
BOARD MEETING: We
have been invited to attend the next Park Hill School District board meeting to
be recognized for our state championship!
It will be held this Thursday,
November 13 @7pm. We are asking
the girls to arrive around 6:45pm since we are one of the first things on the
agenda. Please make sure you dress
appropriately!
WALMART: We have
been approached by the Walmart’s PR company to participate in an event in which
local Walmart’s invite nearby high school cheerleaders to make an
appearance. The goal of this is to
connect Walmart with the community, and to promote the great things our local
high schools are doing as well. We will
be handing out flyers for the youth clinic in hopes of gaining a wider
audience.
The Walmart appearance is scheduled for Saturday, November 15 from 11-2pm. We will expect all cheerleaders to attend for
the entire time unless otherwise discussed with the coaches. Please wear your red uniform with white bow
(hair in a ponytail). We will be inside,
so you should not need to wear leggings or jackets.
CHEER CLINIC: Our
winter cheer clinic is scheduled for Sunday, December 7, 2014 from 12-4pm. The cost will be $40 (includes instruction,
t-shirt, bow, snacks, and entrance into basketball game). You will find the flyer for this event
attached to this email. We will send
these out to the elementary schools as well as hand them out at Walmart on the
15th. The money raised from
this cheer clinic will go towards our end of the season banquet. The girls from the clinic will perform at the
girls basketball game the following day, Monday, December 8. Please feel free to invite anyone ages 3-14
(pre-school to 8th grade) to attend!
STATE FOOTBALL:
IF and WHEN our football team makes it to the state championship, the game will
be at 7pm at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis, MO on Friday, November
28. The bus will leave that Friday and
return that same night. All cheerleaders
are to ride the bus to and from the game unless a form has been signed and
approved by Mr. Erneste PRIOR to the event.
We would encourage all cheerleaders to attend, but understand if
previous arrangements have been made since it is over Thanksgiving break.
STATE RINGS: The
Josten’s rep is in the process of sending out an invoice to everyone letting
you know what you still owe. All
payments are to go through Josten’s, not the school or coaches.
PICTURES: You may
have noticed Jina Chung, Kayley’s cousin, taking pictures down on the track of
the girls at games. This is a hobby of
hers and she has done an amazing job so far!
Once edited, she uploads all of the pictures to a private shutterfly
account for you all to view and print or order pictures if you would like. The link is below along with the
password. Thanks, Jina!

SICK?: If your
daughter is sick and has to stay home from school/practice/game, in
order to excuse the absence, we will need to have a doctor’s note. Unfortunately without a doctor’s note, the
absence will count towards one of the 4 absences for the fall season. The
winter season will begin with our first basketball game.
Also, if your daughter has not attended 2 or more full
blocks of school for any reason, they are not able to come to practice or any
games that afternoon/evening (per Mr. Erneste).
SPIRIT WEAR: Get your PHVC spirit wear for the
upcoming games! Feel free to send this
link to family and friends as well https://www.varsitycolors.com/PHtrojancheer/home
**Varsity
sends the clothing as they are complete.
You may receive your order in separate shipments, so do not be alarmed!
