Cheer update 2/24

Winter Pictures: We will be having pictures Thursday, February 26, 2015 at 4:30pm If you would like to order any pictures please fill out the order form and send it with your cheerleader to pictures on Thursday.   Cheerleaders can pick up a picture form from Coach Simon’s room either Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday this week.  If your cheerleader has not receive a picture order form please have them see Coach Simon.  Ladies please wear your RED uniform. 

SENIOR NIGHTS:  Please note on the calendar.  The boys basketball Senior night and we will honor our cheer seniors will be TONIGHT.   This game is also an ALL SQUAD Event!

Playoff Games:  Both our girl and boy basketball teams are doing very well this season.  These games will be held next week and will continue until both teams lose. 

Banquet: Mark your calendars our Banquet is scheduled for Sunday, March 8 at 3pm. It will be at Trezo Mare in Briarcliff.    We will cover the cost of your cheerleaders, however any family members wishing to attend will pay day of.  We will have a sit down lunch menu to choose from.  It will have the option of a salad and a lunch meal. More details to follow later.  Cheerleaders will receive the invitation tonight. We were going to hand them out last Thursday.  Note: On the invitation it states RSVP by tonight, PLEASE return these to COACH SIMON ASAP! Thanks!

Looking on to Next Season: I know most of you are not even thinking about next season, but as we all know it is quickly approaching.  We will hold tryouts the week after spring break.  March 23-26.  I know some have express concerns about tumbling.  It is not going to be mandatory to tumble to make Varsity, however, it will have a spot on our score sheet just like last year.  We encourage the girls to improve themselves each year and to continue to grow as not only a cheerleader, but an overall athlete.  J

WINTER SEASON: Each girl will have 4 absences throughout basketball season (which usually ends in February).  Events involving a class in school will not count as an absence, however any extracurricular activity interferences will.  The squads will be split up into red and white again.  Look for which squad is cheering on the weekly emails and/or the google calendar.

SICK?: If your daughter is sick and has to stay home from school/practice/game, in order to excuse the absence, we will need to have a doctor’s note.  Unfortunately without a doctor’s note, the absence will count towards one of the 4 absences for the winter season. The winter season will begin with our first basketball game. Also, if your daughter has not attended 2 or more full blocks of school for any reason, they are not able to come to practice or any games that afternoon/evening (per Mr. Erneste).  Please let me know by email or text if your daughter will or has been absent the day of a practice or game. 

PICTURES: You may have noticed Jina Chung, Kayley’s cousin, taking pictures down on the track of the girls at games.  This is a hobby of hers and she has done an amazing job so far!  Once edited, she uploads all of the pictures to a private shutterfly account for you all to view and print or order pictures if you would like.  The link is below along with the password.  Thanks, Jina!

Mon (2/23): Girls v. Ruskin, 6:15pm-WHITE (ALL wear to school: State shirt, WHITE wear to game: New uniform w/ PHHS bow)

Tues (2/24): Boys v. Ruskin, 6:15pm-ALL (Senior Night for Boys & Cheer) (All wear to school and game: Red uniform w/ white bow)

Thurs. (2/26): Pictures at 4:30pm Wear Red Uniform hair however you want it for the picture

Tues. (3/3): Girls v. Winner of the Oak Park/ Park Hill South Game at St. Joe Central – ALL (Wear to school: black camp shirt Wear to the game: New Uniform w/ PHHS bow w/red poms) Bus at 4pm  Please have the cheerleaders bring food with them.

Thurs (3/5): Boys v.Staley  at St. Joe Central- ALL (Wear to School and game: Red Uniform w/ white bow you may wear leggins under your uniform w/ white poms) Bus at 5:30pm Please have the cheerleaders bring food with them.

Fri (3/6): If Either team wins or both teams win- ALL (Wear to School: Gray Camp Shirt Wear to game: New Uniform w/ PHHS bow w/ red poms) BUS : TBA Please have the cheerleaders bring food with them.
